PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Considering the democratic crisis that is spreading in many European countries (with the increase in populism, the loss of confidence in political action, the disinterest of young people in politics, etc.) and the crisis of legitimacy and distrust of the traditional media, the development of alternative local, citizen and participative media (which enhance local dynamics, develop citizenship and social ties) appears today as an opportunity to renew the way in which citizens participate in the life of their city.
For young people, these participatory media are also an excellent tool for imaging education and creating a new gateway to improve their understanding and appropriate comprehension of the digital world in which they live. With this double observation, "CommuniTV" project is supported by three structures specialized in audiovisual and youth participatory productions in France, Belgium and Italy. The main objective is to create a web TV that constitutes a training and education device for youth and youth educators in participatory audiovisual techniques and methods to disseminate the participatory model promoted by Anonymal in Aix-en-Provence in other European territories.
This 26-month project will offer learning activities for young people and trainers on participatory audiovisual practices that will lead to video production highlighting their views on their territory and on the meaning of European citizenship. In parallel with the creation of audio-video content, an interactive e-learning platform will be used to transmit participatory audiovisual methods and techniques to organizations that deal with the education of young people but also in the field of adult education and school education. This contents will be tested by educators participating in learning mobility. All productions will at the end be evaluated during three events of simultaneous broadcasting in the three countries which will result in a live and online TV (TRIPLEX).
This project is promoted by Anonymal in collaboration with the Open Youth Support Association in Belgium and by L’Officina Association, a cultural association based in Perugia in Italy.
WHO IS IT FOR:
The project (lasting 26 months, divided into two years) will involve 8 young people per structure every 12 months and 5 youth educators per country (for a total of between 24 and 72 young people and involving between 15 and 30 educators per year). This project aims to create a citizen media in Italy and open source participatory media education, to facilitate the spin-off of participatory audiovisual techniques, methods and productions at the level of the three countries represented by the project partners. This development of participatory and civic practices should also strengthen the social connection of the participating territories and consolidate active citizen media networks in Europe.
