The workshop of CommuniTV begins: in today’s meeting, the youth reporters have explored the issue of online storytelling. All stories are contents, but not all contents are stories. With storytelling, you can build a story that, regardless of the media, pushes the target audience to choose to view/ listen to that kind of story. The first element to pay attention to is the choice of language: it is essential that those who listen or observe a video, recognize themselves in a certain tone, in a precise and coherent identity. Language is not only able to bring people closer together, but it also creates relationships over time and helps to create a community (that is the group of people who identify in the same language and speak with the same tone). Secondly, attention must be paid to the "tone of voice", that is the way a content is communicated (not only through sound, but also through images, texts, etc.). Therefore, we must be attentive to the language used on multiple platforms: it evokes values and feelings in which the audience is reflected. Obviously the language varies depending on the content, the subject it communicates and the audience it speaks to. The youth reporters will also analyze other aspects in the CommuniTV’s upcoming meetings.
